Takaka sports

Cool! It was the Takaka Sports Exchange yesterday. We had a fantastic time. There were lots of sports like rugby [35-5 to Takaka], hockey [0-3 to Mapua],tug-o-war [3-0 to Takaka] and lots more. One thing was that we didn't win the shield but the main thing was that we had fun. Next year is our year Takaka!

Go Green

Last term we made creations to attract native birds to Mapua School. It was crazy fun!

The Amazing Race

We played the Amazing Race for maths...it was to help us with our mapping skills. The Amazing Race was a real challenge because some of the clues were hidden around corners,in tunnels and in doors. Before we got one of our clues we had to sing in front of room 1,we also had eat vegemite on weet-bix before we got another clue.(I just about spewed eating them!)Yellow Hat Thinking (Good things): my team came second, we got to run around quite a lot and we got to use maths in a really fun wa. Black Hat Thinking (Bad Points) most of us forgot half turns, quarter turns and how to read a compass. We think this happened because we were trying to hurry and win the race! It took longer than we thought because we had to re-check our clue, go back to the start and follow the directions more carefully.

Room 6`s Autoshow

On Tuesday 29 of June room 6 did an auto show. A auto show is a car show. The word auto is another word for car. Room`s 8,4,3 and 2 came to see our auto show. The classes loved the cars. We had four criteria`s our cars had to be. They were;environmentally friendly, safe, cheap to run and hi-tech. We had to do three auto shows. At the first auto show room 8 and 4 came. what they did was they went round to room six`s children's desks and each student had a speech about their car. When it was over room six was sad because room six really enjoyed talking about their car and shearing their work with other people.
