Poetry

Writing poems was awesome. We learnt about Acrostics , Limericks, Simile poems and Haiku. A Haiku is a Japanese poem. It is three lines long and it has a 5, 7, 5 syllable structure. It’s usually about nature. Here’s an example.

Big bubbles flying,
Smaller bubble’s flying too,
They are fun to pop

A Limerick is a five lined poem they usually have a syllable pattern of 8’8’6’6’8. They rhyme A’A’B’B’A. Whaea Aroha taught us loads of different strategies to help us with our poem’s
