Cats on the mat solving Maths!

We are learning to solve problems like 234 x 4 using place value partitioning
example
234 x 4=?
=(4x200)+(4x30)+(4x4)
=800+120+16
=936.

  2. Well done boys. You used the equipment well to show the strategy. Remember the 2 hundreds multiplied by 4 become 8 one hundreds, not 8 and the 3 tens become 12 tens, not 12. It is important to keep the place value language in your explanation. Whaea Aroha
